⁴“Take the count of the people from twenty years old and older,” as the Lord commanded Moses.

The children of Israel, who went out of the land of Egypt, were these:

⁵Reuben, the oldest son of Israel. The children of Reuben:

of Hanok, from whom comes the family of the Hanokites;

of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

⁶of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites;

of Karmi, the family of the Karmites.
